A fully funded postdoctoral position is available in the areas of synthetic and physical organic chemistry. The incumbent will develop new synthetic methodologies for novel π-functional molecules. Interested applicants are encouraged to send a cover letter, CV, list of publications, a brief statement of research interests, and contact information of 2-3 references to Dr. Ito.
Requirement: Applicants must have a PhD degree in chemistry or related research filed by the start date, at the latest. While hands-on experience in the synthesis and characterization of π-conjugated organic molecules is desirable, in exceptional cases a working-knowledge may be acceptable. Experience in physical property measurement and device fabrication would be an asset. Strong motivation for research and good communication skills are essential.
Employment Conditions: While the start date for this position is flexible, preference will be given for early applications or appointments. Salary is commensurate with personal background and research experience. Appointment is initially for one year, with the possibility of renewal contingent upon performance and the availability of funds.
